SnowBowl will be held at Aroostook Centre Mall

This weekend the SnowBowl will be held at the Aroostook Centre Mall, 830 Main Street, Presque Isle, Maine.

Bring your chairs if you want to sit and watch the races as the event won’t have bleachers due to the last-minute changes organizers had to make in order to make this all happen. Thank you to all who are helping us make this happen and we really hope everyone turns out to help us make this a huge success. We will need to postpone the Big Rock Mountain Hill Climb to a later date at the end of the ski season to be determined. We will also postpone the Brian’s Ride event due to trail conditions. While these conditions are not favorable to some of the events of the SnowBowl, we are happy to announce that all other aspects of the SnowBowl are going forward as planned in a new location. We're looking foward to your visit! #VisitAroostook

Please share the news that SnowBowl is still on! Mother Nature hasn’t been easy to work with and even with hauling in 200 loads of Snow to Spud Speedway (the original location of the races and stunt show) the conditions of the grounds are wet and muddy for everyone to feasibly enjoy the events. There are no Pit Fees for racers this weekend. Organizers had two choices, cancel or find another a different suitable location. Thanks to the Aroostook Centre Mall, we have a new location for the SnowBowl events this weekend! The paved areas and piles of snow will turn into an EPIC racetrack for the SnoCross racing! All Saturday and Sunday events will be at the Aroostook Centre Mall and we’re going to take the fun to a whole new level. We will have the Northeast SnoCross Tour races, Rave X Stunt Show, Vintage Snowmobile Show, Parade and Races, vendors, displays, food trucks, and more. It will be cash only at the gates or you can buy your tickets online at www.caribousnowbowl.com The weather on Saturday and Sunday will be near 50 degrees so it’s going to be perfect to enjoy a whole day of fun for all. Mother Nature may have impacted everyone’s ability to ride but it won’t keep us from delivering the SnowBowl! Make sure to come out and support the racers, and everyone that is helping us put this huge event on. See you soon at the SnowBowl.

What's The Status of Snowmobiling?

An unseasonable winter and an unforeseen February heatwave have caused most snowmobile clubs in the region to stop grooming and to close trails. It is important to honor closed trails as private landowners are the keystone to the 2,300-mile snowmobile system we all love and adore. Protect the land from damage and stay off the trails when closed, clubs are optimistic that if a huge snow comes out of nowhere then at that time they will consider reopening trails. Ice conditions are dangerous. A skidder went through the ice on Portage Lake on 2/27/24. ATV’s are prohibited on trails until each ATV club opens their trail system; usually this is on or after Memorial Day Weekend. Here is a list of the clubs that have publically announced the closure of their trails:

  • Benedicta Snowgang
  • Linneus Snosports
  • Frenchville Snowmobile Club
  • The Madawaska Snowmobile Club
  • Fort Kent SnoRiders Snowmobile Club
  • Limestone SnowHawks
  • Portage Lakers
  • Ashland Snowmobile Club
  • The Maine Snowmobile Association Northern Region MSA Showcase March 16th Ride has beeen canceled, lunch and the meeting will continue.
