The UMFK Alumni Association invite you to the First Annual Ski-Shoe-Ski, a Winter Triathlon Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoeing and Downhill Skiing!
WHO CAN COMPETE? All community members who can cross country ski, snowshoe and/or downhill ski are welcome! One person can compete in all three legs or teams can compete relay style. Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed participant, the highest sponsored participant, fastest individual and fastest team, and, of course, the participant exhibiting the most UMFK Bengal spirit. Children must be accompanied by an adult and are the sole responsibility of the adult. Register Here.
WHERE WILL I GO?
- Cross Country Ski from the Fort Kent Outdoor Center Lodge around the Waska Loop.
- Snowshoe from the Fort Kent Outdoor Center Lodge to the warming hut at the top of Lonesome Pine Trails.
- Downhill ski to the finish line at the Lonesome Pine Trails lodge.
- Shuttles between Lonesome Pines and FKOC will be available.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? Registration is $20.00 ($10.00 for UMFK students) for individuals or $45.00 for a team of three. After you register, you will receive a sponsor sheet.
WHY WOULD I DO THIS? Because it will be FUN!! And the funds we raise will go toward securing lights for the UMFK Soccer Field. Lights on the field will allow student-athletes as well as the community to utilize the field later in the day. This is especially important in late fall and early spring when it is dark early in the day.
