At the end of a frosty day filled with adventure, find top-notch overnight accommodations and warm up downtown to delicious local cuisine (like poutine and the locals favorite - molasses donuts).

Weekly Events
Jalbert Youth Ski Program
- Fort Kent Outdoor Center - Fort Kent, Maine
- Beginning December until March, children ages 4-14 of all skill levels can participate in the monthly ski lessons. Rentals are included as part of the fee.
2025 Snowshoe Series
- Fort Kent Outdoor Center - Fort Kent, Maine
- Meet up with some old friends and new ones! Weekly nighttime treks through the trails surround Fort Kent Outdoor Center. Snowshoe rentals available.
Wednesday Walkers
- Four Season Trail Association - Madawaska, Maine
- Every Wednesday December through March the snowshoe club will tour the trails - lots of chances for wildlife viewing and birding is an added bonus! Snowshoe rentals available.
Wicked Cheap Wednesdays at BigRock Mountain
- Mars Hill, Maine
- Visit BigRock Mountain this winter, where you can experience the highest vertical drop of any ski spot in Northern Maine or Eastern Canada! Every Wednesday from 2-8:00 PM, lift tickets are discounted to $25!
2025 Signature Events
Tame the Track Tour Snowmobile Races
- Island Falls, Maine
- December 14, January 25, February 16 the snowmobiles will race the track in the shadows of Katahdin. More than 22 classes and huge payouts - but the food is what the race fans really crave.
- Presque Isle, Maine
- North Star Motorsports and XC New England Racing are coming to Presque Isle on January 18th for snowmobile racing for all ages. Race meets at Arnold Brook Lake Boat Landing in Presque Isle
- Four Season Trail Association- Madawaska, Maine
- Can you hear the cowbells as the athletes Nordic ski their way through the course? Spectators love this race on the beautiful trails in Madawaska. January 19th Participants pack the trails for a shotgun start and race to the finish line with a variety of races throughout the day.
- St. Agatha, Maine
- An annual tradition in St. Agatha, the Ice Fishing Derby draws fishing enthusiasts from all over as it is the largest in the State! January 25th and 26th participants compete for cash and other prizes, including a new snowmobile!
- Houlton, Maine
- Get ready for family winter fun at the three-day Moosestompers Weekend, beginning January 31st through February 2nd! Activities include snowshoeing, selfie photo station, ice fishing derby, GIANT sliding hill, mystery gift giveaway, and so much more!
WinterKids Family Day at BigRock Mountain,
- Mars Hill, Maine
- Ring in the New Year at BigRock Mountain on February 2nd for a family day filled with skiing and deep discounts.
- Van Buren, Maine
- The town's Premier Party for the film documentary 'Van Buren' a black tie gala and the live band French Toast will highlight the night on February 7th (get it 2-07?!) while an epic Snowmobile ride will tour the region on the 8th.
- Fort Kent Outdoor Center - Fort Kent, Maine
- February 9th is the day that fun races for skiing and snowshoeing pull participants around the track as tasty treats await them at the finish line and warm beverages keep them warm!

- On February 17th & 18th any person (except those whose license has been suspended or revoked) may fish without a license. All other laws and regulations still apply.
- St. Agatha, Maine
- The Acadian Pond Hockey Classic is having its 6th Annual 3 on 3 Pond Hockey Tournament off the shores of Long Lake in St. Agatha, Maine. Six rinks will be prepared for two days of action! February 22nd & 23rd.
- Aroostook County, Maine
- Get ready for five days of winter fun! From February 26th to March 2nd, the Snow Bowl is Maine's biggest winter snowmobile festival, where a bevy of winter activities take place, including activities for the kids, live music, 80-mile snowmobile ride, groomer rodeo, vintage snowmobile show, parade, and some serious hill climbs and freestyle show, snocross and X Racing at the Aroostook Centre Mall parking lot turned stadium and snow pit.
Can-Am Crown International Sled Dog Races
- Fort Kent Outdoor Center - Fort Kent, Maine
- See the longest dog sled race in the eastern United States! March 1st through the 5th, racers and spectators flock to the town of Fort Kent to experience all the excitement and competition. Most events take place on Main Street in Fort Kent on March 1st near the starting line. Mushers racing in the 250 finish days later on March 5th!

- March 7th-9th is Free Snowmobile Weekend, a nonresident (from another state or province) may operate a snowmobile in Maine (no reciprocity necessary) so long as he/she has a valid registration from another state or province. St. Francis Annual Snow Drags
- St. Francis, Maine
- A March Date TBD the drags will race through the region and it is a spectacle that excites the whole family. Can you say yes to red hot dogs?
- St. Agatha, Maine
- March 8th in St. Agatha includes a winter fun for the whole family of outdoor enthusiast. With Poker Runs, Bonfires, Sledding, and Skating - we know the whole family will warm up to the season!
- Four Season Trail - Madawaska, Maine
- March 15th in the Four Season Trail Association host's the Acadia Ski Marathon. Registration is required, however spectators are welcome.

- March 22nd and 23rd, participating sugar shacks open their doors and offer educational demonstrations and taste testing!
World's First International Ice Carousel
- Van Buren, Maine and St. Lenard, New Brunswick
- TBD end of March, the Northern Maine Ice Busters are back and this time they are going international on the St. John River - they will cut a disk in the ice 207' wide and make it spin - aka an Ice Carousel! Family fun, food trucks, live music and a world record are in store!
