"Like owning your own camp in remote Northern Maine"
Whether you stay at Macannamac Camps to fish, hike, canoe, kayak, cross-country ski, wildlife watch, hunt, or simply relax, you’ll enjoy a step back in time… where you can unplug, slow down, and enjoy one another’s company. Each cabin is individually located along the lakeshores of the pristine Haymock, Spider, and Cliff Lakes with its own path to the water and private dock. When you are on your cabin’s porch, you can’t see any other cabins. A perfect unplugged getaway for families and wildlife lovers.
Each of our six cabins includes private, cozy, amenities and the use of a kayak. Small boats are available for rent.
Macannamac Camps was founded by Jack McPhee in 1985 on Spider Lake and expanded to Haymock and the construction of Haymock 1 and then the Lodge in 1987. Jack was a legend in the North Maine Woods as a Maine Game Warden Pilot and experienced woodsman. Tragically, Jack passed away while surveying collared Canada lynx in 2004 and his wife Josie continued the mission of renting camps at an affordable price to mostly Maine clients over the next several years. Dave Allen and Josie have now owned and operated the camps for nearly 20 years before completing their succession plan for the camps with the House family in 2022. Jason and Trisha House are delighted to have Josie and Dave stay on to operate the camps and provide a smooth ownership transition for their clients. Rest assured, little will change at Macannamac, because little needs to. Jason and Trisha look forward to Macannamac's loyal clients returning for many years to come.
