Spud Speedway is very excited to announce the grand opening of Spud Speedway’s Northern Lights! Join us Saturday, January 4th from 5-8 pm. We will celebrate this new endeavor with a bonfire, s’mores and music. This is a free event and free to all visitors for the rest of the winter. Northern Lights willbe open daily from January through March to either walk through or ride through on snowmobile.
Northern Lights is a light display made up of thousands of lights in different displays that will eventually span the grounds of Spud. The first phase is now complete and includes our famous tire snowmen all decked out in lights and lined up as the entrance to our 70 foot tunnel of lights. We invite you to walk through this light display and then stop for a photo op at our giant Northern Lights photo. This stunning picture was taken from northern Maine’s very own Paul Cyr who seems to be able to catch these tricky lights at just the right time behind his camera lens.
Our vision is that this becomes a destination for locals and snowmobiler’s this year and for years to come. Snowmobilers will be able to ride through the display on their sleds via direct trail access on ITS 89. This is Maine’s only light display tunnel accessible by snowmobile!
